Clear Choice Academies Announces Location for High School

3850 W. Anthony Rd. in Ocala is the new location for Ocali Charter High School, opening August 2023

Clear Choice Academies (CCA) recently announced that Ocali Charter High School has found a permanent home at 3850 W. Anthony Rd. in Ocala. The site was selected after a strenuous search for commercial property that would permit zoning for a public charter school, and was purchased on behalf of the organization by funding partners at Building Hope.

Classes will start Thursday, August 10, 2023 with 9th and 10th grade, with 11th and 12th being added the following year. CCA will hold a special, by-invitation-only, inaugural ceremony a few days before the school's opening.

Upon opening, Ocali Charter High School will be the only charter high school in Marion County. According to Leo Pacheco, CCA Chairman of the Board, the school "has big plans to create an environment where every student matters and the curriculum is designed to incorporate their individual gifts, talents, learning abilities, and personalities, so they can choose their pathway post high school."

Also launching with the school opening will be a magnet program called "OBI," which stands for Online Business Incubator, where students will be given the opportunity to learn how to start, manage, and operate a legal online business by the time they graduate high school. Headed by Principal Elizabeth Brown, formerly the Principal of Forest High School, the school will also offer several magnet academies that incorporate core curriculum, CCA values, and individual student abilities with experiential, hands-on learning opportunities to help students take what they learn in class and apply it to real world applications and life skills.

Starting in April, minor renovations will take place at the new location, in preparation for the opening of the school. This will include refreshing the interior and exterior of two buildings, adding new technology and security systems, and more. When the school opens in August, it will be a state-of-the-art learning center.

The school is almost at full capacity, according to Principal Brown, and there are very few seats left for the OCHS Class of 2025. Once the school reaches capacity, a waiting list will be created. To enroll, please CLICK HERE. To learn more about upcoming programs, CLICK HERE.
